Principle System Features
- Measure and design service: Many contractors will not be aware of the need to adequately prepare in advance the details of door steps, window sills, box gutter details and edge finishing.
- Laminated galvanised steel profiles for cappings, edges flashings, sills and steps: A series of p.v.c. laminated profiles is mechanically fixed prior to the membrane being next welded to the profiles. The heat welded membrane then provides permanent protection to the fixings.
- Heat welded seams: All laps, joints, junctions are heat welded, resulting in a hormogeneous unit.
- Fabricated column sleeves: Turned-up boots around column bases are individually fabricated and terminated above the paving level.
- Bonded or loose laid applications: In the rare applications where bonding is called for, the membrane installation can be fully bonded to the substrate.
- T shaped profiles: A T shaped profile can be installed at the balcony edge to reduce the flow of water born silica salts from staining exterior finishes.
| Hints for building contractors
- Always waterproof your balcony before you install the door/window frames.
- Weep holes in brick courses should be created in a position so as they are one course above the highest turned-up point of membrane.(Minimum 150mm)
- Closely supervise the installation of adequate over flashings through the brickwork where required.
- Guttering should be installed before waterproofing to allow the membrane to be lapped in to the gutter.
- Have the membrane installed before any cladding. (Roof flashing principles)
- Provide adequate large diameter drainage outlets in the required positions.
